Nike Sculpture originally was the piece of the monumental arch of Hercules Gate which was the seperated uptown from down town of Ephesus city. As it not a stable relief it is placed on the northwest of Domitian square. Generally Nike was referred as the winged angel of Victory. She has a a knitted crown of olive leaves, symbolising ‘Victory’ in her leading hand. Her trailing hand nabs a palm tree branch, symbolising ‘the fruits of Victory’ like peace and prosperity. The fact that her leading hand holding the crown makes much of its precedence over the palm branch which is fondled by her trailing hand releases. It is indisputable that Victory is the peak success and it brings forth the next rewards. Today, Nike sculpture is accepted to be the pride and joy of Ephesus, located at Domitian Square.
